Wine Sampling Limousine Trip to Maryland
Are you and your wine enthusiast friends looking for some place to go to satisfy your wine ?cravings?? Are you also having problems as to who will be the designated driver after you have gone through the tasting of wines in the wineries? Is no one among you willing to sacrifice and not drink a drop of wine so that all of you will get home safely? If that is the case, there is no need for you or your friends to continue bickering about picking one person from your group to be the designated driver. The moment you book a limousine for your trip, the position of a driver is filled.
After you and your wine-drinking friends have booked the limousine, the best place to go to fulfill your wine ?cravings? would be Maryland. In Maryland, there are more than 180 different varieties of wine to choose from, and there?s bound to be something that?s perfect for you and your friends, and their skilled winemakers provide wine drinkers wonderful world-class wines. Meet the winemakers of the wineries in Maryland and see for yourselves how your favorite wine is made from grape to the bottle.
Begin your wine tasting excursion by asking your limousine driver to take you to Boordy Vineyards, said to be Maryland?s oldest family run winery. Boordy Vineyards was established in 1945 and owned by the R.B. Deford family. They also have escorted tours on the winemaking process and will take you to stroll through the vineyards to experience the beauty of a Maryland winery. If you like, you may even purchase their wines and who knows, you may even be given a discount for your purchase!
After you and your limousine friends have lingered long enough at Boordy Vineyards, it is time for you to move on to another winery. Tell your limousine driver to bring you to Cygnus Wine Cellars, located on 3130 Long Lane, Manchester, Maryland. Cygnus Wine Cellars became a licensed and bonded winery in 1996 and they are a small family winery.
For some fresh fruit flavor wines, ask your limousine driver to take you to Deep Creek Cellars. Located at 177 Frazee Ridge Road, Friendsville, it is a pioneering winery, vineyard, and farm market in the mountains of extreme western Maryland, near Deep Creek Lake. Their wines are inspired by the country wines of Europe and are distinctive and polished expressions of the grape, with a focus on fresh fruit flavors, with the subtle use of oak aging.
One thing that you can be sure of is that when you and your friends finally call it a day, your limousine driver is ever ready to bring you home. And hopefully, this trip has been one that you and your friends have totally enjoyed.

SAT 12/13: Folk, Rock, More

I've been spending time today with my lady or cooking, but here are some options -- just in case someone was looking for some good music tonight. Why do I write more for some other shows than others? Maybe I write less out of "respect" for the things that are dear to my heart -- but all are good! (Maybe I drink too much wine before I write this stuff...--------------------------------------------------------------SAT 12/138pmJP Unplugged: Cara Frankowicz & Back of the Bus, Chris Wilhelmat Lor
British pubs in Vancouver

On the odd occasion that we want to surround ourselves in Britishness we have tried to locate a British-style pub in Vancouver, and we have almost always been disappointed. Many of the bars are just humble sports bars that serve a few British items on their menu - SOHO and The Dover Arms on Denman street are very good examples of this style of bar. Of course there are many different styles of pub in Britain and so it is hard to pin down exactly what makes a pub feel British. I would say that t
Changing up the Wedding
Sat, 13 Dec 2008 12:09:42 -0800
As the comments on my last post showed, it's challenging to plan a huge wedding blowout (original budget 35K) in a melting economy. Maybe it's crazy. But it's too late now. The wedding is in early March. People have booked flights. Huge deposits have been paid. It's too late. But in light of the lay-offs, we made a lot of changes. Although I didn't envision it as such, Saved to Save said it best. I don't want to have a "let them eat cake" moment. Especially if I could be on my butt in six month
A holly, jolly Christmas

Part of what makes the holidaze so meaningful is the annual tradition of getting out the decorations and ornaments. They become almost like old friends over the years, each one harkening back to its time of purchase, providing a precious link with the past and reminding us of the cycles of life in all its vastness and intricacy. Or maybe you’re simply un-boxing some cheap stuff that was on sale at the Dollar Store last winter or that you won in a gift exchange at the office; either way, holiday
Review: The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Wine Basics (Second Edition)
Sat, 13 Dec 2008 11:46:52 -0800
I never would have thought I’d be recommending a book about wine with the phrase “complete idiot” in the title, but for outright rank beginners, this tome by Tara Q. Thomas is an accessible way to get a bearing on a complicated subject. Primarily broken down by grape varietal (with a few chapters devoted to certain wine regions), the book is 368 pages of easy-reading, breezy coverage of the basics of the grape. Favorite feature: Simple line drawings that outline the grape-growing regions of vi
In The Papers - Saturday December 13th

Here’s a round-up of the food & drink articles in Toronto’s papers today… Toronto Star: Corey Mintz is no fan of the atmosphere at Frank, but he finds most of the food to be pretty good. Gord Stimmell gives quick notes on a bunch of wines in the $25-to-$50 range, as well as a few that are slightly more budget friendly. Mary Nersessian investigates the changes being made by high-end restaurateurs like Marc Thuet and Mark McEwan in an attempt to keep their restaurants full through the worse
